If you do not agree to these terms, you may not register or purchase this site’s products.
Jargon
site: foodstuffscience.com (and all products and services available)
we or us: the instructor (Kristin Butler), hired independent contractors, and the sole proprietor entities of connected to Connect Learning Studio
you or your: you, the registerer of the course (the parent of your student)
student: your student aged 13 years or older that is participating in the Connect Learning Studio programs, products, or services
your or student content: anything you or your student post or upload on this site or related forums
our content: everything we post on this site owned by us (including text, sound, graphics, or other materials)
courses, products, and/or services: may include any sort of curated course material, single purchase downloads, or services provided by Connect Learning Studio or related sites
Purchase of Product
We offer products for sale on this site using a third-party shopping cart of either Paypal or Stripe. Your credit card information is processed and maintained by PayPal and/or Stripe to securely process payment. Both providers share your name, address, and email with us, but we do not have access to your credit card information.

Refund Policy
All courses, products, and services are non-refundable upon purchase (unless specified in the product description in the checkout page)
We reserve the right to issue a refund by our sole discretion for any reason at any time.
Membership in Password Protected Member Area
This site is for resources that parents can distribute to their students 13 years or younger, or for students 13 years or older to participate.
If membership options are available, membership is managed through SentryLogin. We will never share your membership information, unless required to by law.
Your password and username should only be used by you. Your username and password cannot be transferred or shared with others beyond your immediate family.
Intellectual Property
Your student owns their content; we own our content.
Your student owns the copyright in their content. But by posting or uploading their content to the site your student grants us a non-exclusive, perpetual, sub-licenseable, royalty-free, worldwide license. We need this license so that we can perform the services you registered for. This license allows us to store and show your student’s content to other users. This license does not allow us to sell your student’s content.
This site contains intellectual property owned by Kristin Butler of Connect Learning Resources, including trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property. However, we want you to share and discuss our course offerings with others. When sharing your experience online, please provide a link back to the home or course info page on the site. Any use beyond this is not authorized without our prior written consent. In no way are you allowed to share text or visuals of this site’s intellectual property (for example workbooks, guides, quizzes, etc). If you would like to obtain consent, please email hello@connectlearningstudio.com
This site does link or embed videos that other entities reserve their intellectual rights. This site always strives to curate these materials in legal manners. By viewing or visiting other sites, you must agree to their terms of use, which are not managed by this site.

Comments/Forums
This site is designed for parents and/or students 13 years and older.
As such, you and your student agree that you and they will not:
Use hateful, abusive, offensive, or obscene language towards others
Threaten others with violence
Use (or attempt to use) another person’s account
Post material that infringes on another person’s intellectual property rights
If you do any of these things, we may remove your content or cancel your account without a refund.
Cancellation
Upon completion of your agreed upon purchase price (single or multiple payments), you will have access to the purchased courses, products, and/or services until those materials are no longer offered or the term of your purchase expires. You may be updated about product updates using your contact information on file.
We, in our sole discretion, have the right to suspend or terminate your account, for any reason at any time. If your account is cancelled, your content will remain on the site, but your access to the membership area will be revoked.
Privacy Policy
This site collects information on you in two ways.
The information that you manually provide us by signing up for our newsletter, leaving a comment, filling out one of the contact forms, or making a purchase. This information can be tied directly to you because of the information you’ve provided.
The information that’s automatically collected via third-party partners included on this site in order to allow us to give and deliver content the most relevant content to you. The types of information collected here include things like your IP address, location, pages visited, and browser type. Generally, our third-party partners only give us this information in the aggregate (e.g. it’s not identifiable to you) but sometimes this information can be directly tied to you.
Most of this information is only used in the aggregate to create a profile of our readers and the types of content that you, as our readers, most identify with. We use this profile to create more targeted content. The information collected is only shared with trusted third parties (i.e. our email provider or Facebook advertising), or others if required by our terms of service/agreement with those parties, or if we are legally required to by law.
If you are a member and would like to see or update your account information, or you would like to know what information we have that’s directly attributable to you, please contact hello@connectlearningstudio.com and we will provide a response within 30 days.
Miscellaneous Fine Print
Upon purchase, you must agree that you will not hold Kristin Butler, Connect Learning Resources, or any other connected service to any form of liability or claim.
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold us from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses or fees (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these terms or your use of the site.
Any legal suit, action or proceeding arising out of, or related to, these terms or this site shall be instituted exclusively through arbitration.
Updates + Date Last Updated
These terms of service and privacy policy will be periodically reviewed and updated to reflect the current functions of the site. If you do not agree to any changes, you may cancel your account. The revised terms will apply to you if you continue to use your account.
